INTERNATIONAL FORUM "MICROELECTRONICS 2019"

10/09/2019

Alexey Mikhailov attended the Microelectronics 2019 International Forum

StoLab employee Alexey Mikhailov attended the Microelectronics 2019 International Forum, which was held for the fifth anniversary time in Alushta (Republic of Crimea).

The Microelectronics Forum is the largest platform (more than 500 participants from 200 organizations) for a constructive dialogue between the scientific community, industrial associations and representatives of business structures in the microelectronics industry, strategically important for our country and related high-tech industries. This year, the forum included a rich business program, an extended scientific conference "Electronic Components and Microelectronic Modules" and an interactive project competition "Festival of Innovations", and the forum was preceded by the School of Young Scientists in Gurzuf.

The plenary session of the forum was opened by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Bocharov O.E. and Director of the Department of the radioelectronic industry Shpak V.V., who spoke about the upcoming positive changes in the Russian market of microelectronics within the framework of Strategy 2030. Among the plenary speakers, one should highlight the honorary president of the conference, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences G.Ya. Krasnikov (report on quantum systems and radio photonics), Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.L. Aseev. and Corresponding Member of the RAS Nikitov S.A. (reports on specific scientific areas of modern microelectronics). Numerous participants in the scientific conference continued their work in 10 parallel sections.
Alexey Mikhailov was invited by the organizers of the section “Neuromorphic Computing. Artificial Intelligence ", which was first included in the forum program under the leadership of Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences B.V. Kryzhanovsky. In his report on the topic "Memorial materials, devices and systems - on the way to neuromorphic and neurohybrid systems" Alexey  Mikhailov presented the main results obtained by the interdisciplinary team of UNN together with partners in recent years, including new solutions for the creation of brain-like neural network architectures based on adaptive memristive devices (developed within the framework of the RFBR project No. 18-29-23001) and a bidirectional neurointerface based on a memristive neurohybrid chip (proposed for the first time within the framework of the Russian Science Foundation project No. 16-19-00144). The audience's particular attention was drawn to the new compact stochastic models of memristive devices for creating library CAD elements, developed within the framework of the mega-grant of the Government of the Russian Federation (contract No. 074-02-2018-330 (2)) under the guidance of Professor Bernardo Spagnolo.

A large number of reports on memristive materials and systems were made by authors from other universities and academic institutions, which indicates the growing interest of the scientific community in the use of memristors in neuromorphic artificial intelligence technologies, and holding a special section and establishing new contacts within the framework of the forum significantly facilitates the task of creating scientific -production consortia with the key role of Lobachevsky University.
