STOLAB AT THE FORUM "MICROELECTRONICS-2020"

10/07/2020

StoLab employees took an active part in the International Forum "Microelectronics-2020"

The Microelectronics Forum is the largest platform (over 1000 participants) for a constructive dialogue between the scientific community, industrial associations and representatives of business structures in the microelectronics industry, strategically important for our country, and related high-tech industries.
This year, the forum included a rich business program, an innovation festival and the 19th industrial scientific and technical conference of the radio-electronic industry. The plenary session of the forum was opened by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yu.I. Borisov, D.N. Chernyshenko, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade O.E. Bocharov and director of the department of radio-electronic industry V.V. Shpak, who spoke about the positive changes in the Russian microelectronics market, as well as about the main approaches to the implementation of the strategy for the development of the electronic industry of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030

The President of the Conference, Academician of the RAS G.Ya. Krasnikov made a report on the possibilities of microelectronic technologies with a topological size of less than 5 nm. V.A. Demin, spoke about the prospects of neuromorphic computing systems and the success of the international consortium, which includes UNN.

Numerous participants in the scientific conference continued their work in 11 parallel sections. During the forum, there was a demo zone, where the stand of Lobachevsky University was presented for the first time This stand demonstrated the advanced results in the field of memristors and memristive systems obtained within the framework of the mega-grant of the Government of the Russian Federation under the leadership of Professor Bernardo Spagnolo.

The young performer of the project, Maxim Shamshin, successfully coped with the interactive demonstration of exhibits, including samples of the element base of memristive neural networks and operating analog-digital circuits based on memristive devices. Alexey Mikhailov spoke at the section “Neuromorphic Computing. Artificial Intelligence" with a report on" Memristive devices under the influence of neuron-like activity and noise ", highlighted new approaches of the UNN interdisciplinary team to the development of brain-like neural network architectures based on adaptive memristive devices and to the study of the stochastic nature of the memristive effect (within the framework of a megagrant from the Government of the Russian Federation).

StoLab employees held negotiations with representatives of partner organizations, including the management of NIIME JSC. The subject of negotiations was actual joint projects and new opportunities for developing cooperation. The great interest in the StoLab exposition of Lobachevsky University, the growing number of reports on memristive materials and systems made by authors from other universities and academic institutions demonstrates the rapid development of the scientific community associated with the use of memristors in artificial intelligence technologies. The establishment of new contacts within the framework of the forum is essentialy facilitates the task of creating research and production consortia with the key role of Lobachevsky University.
